Hi, I’m Sarah. Years ago, I met a Southern Highlands boy and decided to take the biggest leap of my life, I packed up everything, moved across the world, and together we built not just a family, but a dream.

That dream became The HideOut Bar & Grill.

Food has always been my love language. Growing up in Texas, I was raised on the kind of cooking that brought people together - smoky flavours, hearty portions, and meals that lasted long after the plates were cleared because no one wanted to leave the table. My Papaw taught me that food isn’t just about taste; it’s about connection, storytelling, and hospitality that makes everyone feel like family.

When I came to the Southern Highlands, I knew I wanted to bring that same spirit here. With my husband Pete and our little crew - Calista, Brooklynn, Skylann, and Adelynn - we created The HideOut as a place where Southern hospitality and Tex-Mex flavour meet Aussie charm.

We’re proud to share our roots with you across our two homes:

• Mittagong where it all began, our first HideOut.

• Goulburn where the fiesta now lives on, bringing bold flavours and community spirit to the Southern Tablelands.

Here, food is more than just a menu - it’s an invitation. It’s smoky brisket tacos shared with friends, margaritas clinking on a Friday night, and kids giggling over nachos while parents unwind. It’s connection, celebration, and joy.
